Here’s a quick tutorial on how to buy Bitcoin on LocalBitcoins. Right on the front page, type the amount you’d like to buy and choose the currency you’d like to use. Then select the country from which you’d like to see offers and choose the payment method you’d prefer.
When you click on Search Offers, you’ll see a list of top-ranking offers in the order of price per one Bitcoin. With each offer, you’ll see the username, the feedback score, the number of completed trades, and the typical response time for the seller.
When choosing a trade, make sure you’re happy with the required payment method, and also take note of the minimum and maximum trade amount. It’s no problem to buy more or less than one Bitcoin as long as the value of the trade is within those limits.
Choose a trade to see more details. Here, you’ll see more information on the terms of trade and the seller’s reputation. Read everything carefully before submitting the trade request. If you don’t agree with the terms, you should go back and choose another offer. To initiate the trade, enter the amount you’d like to buy.
Add a message to the seller and click on Open a trade. Make sure you’re ready to pay when clicking the button. If you don’t pay before the payment window expires, the trade will be automatically cancelled.
When the trade is initiated, we reserve the seller’s Bitcoin and store it safely in escrow. You can then chat with the seller to work out any details you might need. When you’ve made the payment as per the seller’s instructions, click on the I have paid button. Once the seller has verified that your payment has been received, your Bitcoin will be released from escrow into your LocalBitcoins wallet.
